Great value for money, proficient staff, and a comfortable trip. The 2–3 stops were adequate.
The driver is very good, and the tour guide is very nice, polite, and helpful. The tour guide promotes Cambodia very well.
Very good and very fast. The driver was punctual and professional. The van was new, and the service was prompt and courteous.
Nice experience! The bus is modern and clean, and the staff are really friendly.
They changed the car. It was smooth but not comfortable.
We chose this company because the trip time was the quickest. Although we were delayed at the border, even without this, the journey would have taken much longer than suggested. The bus itself was great.
The air conditioning was not working well.
I was so disappointed. I booked a van, but what I got was a bus. Really bad service.
The driver stopped too often. It’s important to build trust with our Cambodian passengers regarding vehicle condition, punctuality, and cleanliness; otherwise, the company may lose more customers. Most passengers now prefer fast travel with minimal stops. For example, Vietnamese buses usually stop only once or twice, which is enough.
Very comfortable journey. The staff were very friendly, helped with SIM cards and visas in Cambodia, and made the border process very simple. I will definitely recommend this service and travel again when I’m next in this part of the world.

The immigration process was fast and smooth.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5 – You Get What You Pay For, Barely
Booked a trip from Hồ Chí Minh to Phnom Penh with Capitol Tour. Overall experience was bare-bones but functional — a few helpful humans saved the day.
Boarding:
Check-in was at a small basement office under Kim Khoi Hotel (Siam Travel Agency). Shout-out to the South Asian guy with glasses who let me wait inside his air-conditioned office. No toilet there, though — had to cross the street with another passenger to use a mall WC. Not ideal.
Bus & Ride:
On-time departure (15:30), but not the vehicle advertised. Was supposed to be a bigger Ford Transit — ended up in a much older, narrow Toyota Hiace.
Driver was Khmer, helpful but super chatty.
AC struggled — took an hour to feel anything close to a breeze.
Only two WC stops — first at a decent gas station with coffee/snacks, and second near Neak Leoung bridge (sad bistro, dinner already sold out).
Border Crossing:
Picked up a Capitol colleague at the border who assisted well with passport collection and the process. That part went smoothly.
Arrival:
Landed in Phnom Penh 30 minutes late at their Capitol Orussey Market station. Not shocking given the route and pace.
Bottom Line:
You’re paying for basic transport, not comfort. If you’re flexible and just need to get there, it works — but don’t expect the ride or vehicle in the promo photo. Bring snacks, manage your expectations, and hope the AC cooperates.
I booked a minivan, but a regular bus arrived. He was 2 hours late!
The bus conductor was very kind and helpful. He assisted me with my visa at the border and explained everything clearly.
Not bad overall. I felt good and safe.
The air conditioning isn’t cold enough, and I kept sweating a bit during the ride. The driver stopped multiple times to pick up other passengers, even though some had already requested to be dropped off along the way. Overall, I would not recommend this service for those who need to arrive somewhere on time. This ride is only suitable if you are not in a hurry.
The back seat is broken—please fix it!
The driver was very friendly, but the bus condition wasn’t great. It was a bit hot.
The staff made me feel insecure with their behavior. I don’t recommend girls to book if the bus isn’t crowded and many seats are empty.
Everything was excellent. We left on time; the bus was in great condition and very comfortable; the onboard toilet worked and was clean; and the conductor spoke excellent English (as well as Vietnamese and Khmer) and provided clear information about the border crossing.
The only slight negative is that the arrival time in Phnom Penh is incorrect—but anyone comparing different services would see that it’s impossible to complete the journey across the border by bus at peak time in only six hours. We arrived almost two hours later than scheduled, but I expected that.
Overall, it was as close to perfect as a border-crossing bus service could be and excellent value for money.
The company is reliable, very responsive, and the staff is always kind.
The bus departed late. Unnecessarily long stops on an otherwise short route led to a delay of 1.5 hours. The air conditioning didn’t work properly. This bus is not suitable for business travel.
I have two family members who do not hold Cambodian passports. However, no staff informed us that we would need a visa at any point during the booking process, not even when our passports were collected. We only found out upon arriving at the Cambodia-Vietnam border that they were not allowed to cross. Additionally, we were told we would be charged $250 per person for the visa application, totaling $500 for two people, which is unreasonable.
I’ve taken rides with this company several times, and it’s always late. I feel scammed. They advertise a shorter travel time than other companies, but they never stick to it. Why not communicate the true travel time upfront? Also, the smell from the toilet was unpleasant.
Change of bus at the border. They advertise two drivers, but in fact there was only one. And even the conductor left the bus halfway. The seat on the second bus was dirty with food crumbs. No Wi-Fi and no working charging point on the bus on the Cambodia side. The bus arrived one hour late despite good road conditions and almost no traffic.
I completed a visa run from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City and back. The staff at RedBus took all the hassle out of the border-crossing process. They helped speed up the passport and visa procedures, making the whole trip a breeze. The transportation was also comfortable and efficient. I already know who I’ll be traveling with for my next visa renewal!
As always, the bus did not arrive on schedule. The staff did not hand out water unless I got up and asked for it. The driving along the way was full of honking, and even the foreigners were laughing.
There was a significant issue with the air conditioning at the back of the bus. Both the Wi-Fi and air conditioning stopped working for the last several hours of the journey, making it unbearably hot inside.
Bus service is good, but USB port and Wifi doesn't work well.
Very comfy and punctual, but no main dish was provided, and the ticket price is higher than others.
This bus is perfect, definitely worth the price. Every single staff is friendly. We got the seats that we wanted. The bus conductor informed us when we arrived in each stop. It was such a nice experience.
The air-conditioning system was poor, and we were all sweating. The bus assigned to HCM was the same one we used on our return trip, with no improvements made based on my previous comment.
My seat was changed, and I had to move to the back row.
Everything went very well.
The bus was in very poor condition. The engine had issues, and it couldn’t go over 60 km/h. It took 10 hours to arrive — a complete nightmare. Both drivers talked to each other non-stop and very loudly, so we couldn’t even sleep.
That was one of the best bus trips, including border crossings! The staff are so friendly, and the menu for snacks, drinks, and dinner is even better than some airlines offer! They also help with all the border crossing procedures. Thank you so much, guys, you’re the best!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I recently took a trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh, and it was an absolutely terrible experience. The two drivers were unacceptable in every way. Both had a strong, unpleasant smell of cigarette smoke, and one of them even took off his shoes, filling the bus with the disgusting odor of his socks. They showed no concern for passenger comfort and behaved in a completely unprofessional manner. The staff did not cooperate or work as a team.
The only positive aspect was the cabin crew, who were friendly and helpful, but the drivers completely ruined the experience. This level of service is unacceptable for a company that transports passengers across countries.
I really enjoyed the ride; I could travel like this for as long as it takes. The airbus has an entertainment screen with games, movies, YouTube, and constant internet access, but you just need your own headset.
The bus driver was very rude.
The bus smelled bad, my seat wasn’t properly cleaned from the previous ride, and the food was not great.
The driver drives a bit fast and it scares me.
The bus immediately went back as soon as they realized 1 or 2 passengers were late.
Over 2 hours late arriving, and our suitcases were wet. They were placed in liquid beneath the bus in the storage area. Disgusting.
The driver didn’t drive smoothly at all. I felt carsick.
We had very spacious massage chairs on this bus, which was great for Western-sized people.
I was assigned the wrong seat—I picked seat 5, but I got the second-to-last row, which was very uncomfortable. Additionally, there should be small plastic bags provided for motion sickness.
Everything was perfect except for the toilet! 🤗
It was so hot! The bus toilet smelled, but thank you for the snacks and lunch.
The old bus took about 8 hours, with numerous stops in HCMC and other places. It was very hot on the bus, and the staff were sleeping. If you want to deliver quality service, here are some suggestions for improvement:
1) Depart from a single location in HCMC and have passengers come to that place instead of making multiple stops.
2) Instead of focusing on the shortest route, take the quickest route.
3) Update the bus or invest in a new one.
4) Ensure passengers sit in the seats they purchased.
5) The food is quite poor, and you'll notice that your staff don't eat it.
The toilet system should be improved to prevent the odor of urine from spreading throughout the journey.
The hostess should prioritize customer service over her personal matters.
More movies should be stored to offer various customer choices.
Wi-Fi is not as smooth as expected.
The seat plan was changed, and I had to move back, which was very uncomfortable.
The bus attendant was rude and unhelpful. Several customers asked, 'Can you drop me at…,' but he replied, 'Go tell the driver yourself.' Is this not part of his duty? Why do passengers need to walk on the bus while it is moving to ask the driver for a stop? VET, please check your staff's behavior.
The air conditioner is not cold.
Catch an early morning bus so that you can miss peak hours in HCMC. Border crossing was easy with the help of our hostess, who spoke perfect English. The Wi-Fi worked, and the food was good.
